Overview
Donald John Trump is the 45th and 47th President of the United States, serving from 2017 to 2021 and again from 2025 to present. A businessman and television personality before entering politics, he built The Trump Organization real estate empire and hosted "The Apprentice." His presidency was marked by controversial policies, unprecedented Cabinet turnover, and investigations including the Mueller probe into Russian election interference. After leaving office, he faced four criminal indictments—federal charges for mishandling classified documents and attempting to overturn the 2020 election, plus state charges in New York and Georgia—and was convicted on 34 felony counts in the New York hush money case. On January 6, 2021, he rallied supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol, resulting in his second impeachment. His administration saw family members Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and others in official White House roles. He granted pardons to numerous associates including Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, and Steve Bannon.
