Former U.S. Representative (R-WY), January 6 Committee Vice Chair
Elizabeth Lynne Cheney (born July 28, 1966) is an American attorney and politician who served as the U.S. representative for Wyoming's at-large congressional district from 2017 to 2023. The eldest daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, she served as Chair of the House Republican Conference from 2019 to 2021. Cheney gained national prominence as Vice Chair of the January 6 Committee, leading investigations into the 2021 Capitol attack. Her criticism of Donald Trump's election fraud claims and her vote to impeach him following January 6 led to her removal from House Republican leadership in May 2021. She lost her 2022 primary election to Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman. Cheney endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
