Roger Stone is an American political consultant, lobbyist, and strategist known for his use of opposition research. He served as an adviser to Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. In November 2019, he was convicted of seven felonies including obstruction, making false statements, and witness tampering in connection to the Mueller investigation. He was sentenced to 40 months in prison but was commuted by President Trump in July 2020 and later pardoned in December 2020.
