Steve Bannon Released from Prison
Steve Bannon was released from federal prison on October 29, 2024, after serving approximately four months for contempt of Congress. He had reported to prison on July 1, 2024, following the Supreme Court's rejection of his bid to delay his sentence while appealing his conviction. Bannon became one of the highest-level former Trump advisers to serve prison time related to January 6. His conviction stemmed from refusing to comply with subpoenas from the House January 6 Committee.
