Overview
James David Vance is an American politician, author, and former venture capitalist serving as the 50th Vice President of the United States since January 20, 2025. A United States Senator from Ohio (2023-2025) and former Marine, Vance rose to prominence with his 2016 memoir "Hillbilly Elegy." He was a "Never Trump" critic in 2016 but became a staunch Trump ally by 2022 and was chosen as Trump's 2024 running mate on July 15, 2024.
