United States Deputy Attorney General / Acting Attorney General
Todd Blanche is an American attorney serving as the 38th United States Deputy Attorney General and, from April 2026 onward, acting Attorney General following the firing of Pam Bondi. A former personal lawyer for Donald Trump during his 2024 hush-money and classified-documents trials, Blanche was confirmed as Deputy Attorney General in January 2025. In July-August 2025 he conducted a two-day interview of Ghislaine Maxwell in federal custody; he testified before the Senate in May 2026 that he would not recommend a pardon for Maxwell.
