Marc E. Kasowitz

Marc Kasowitz is a founding partner of Kasowitz Benson Torres and served as Donald Trump's lead attorney during the initial phase of the Russia investigation (May-July 2017). He has represented Trump for decades in various civil matters. Kasowitz charged $1,500 per hour and was paid through Trump personal funds and the RNC legal expense fund. He resigned in July 2017 amid internal conflicts and after sending threatening emails. Notably, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. received over $50,000 in campaign contributions from Kasowitz and his partners, raising conflict of interest questions.
