British political consulting firm that harvested data from up to 87 million Facebook profiles without consent to build psychological profiles for political targeting. The firm was paid $6.2 million by the Trump 2016 campaign and embedded staff with digital strategist Brad Parscale. Founded with $15 million from hedge fund billionaire Robert Mercer, with Steve Bannon on its board. Dissolved in 2018 following the Facebook data scandal.
